Heart & Hustle: Richard Facioni

In a crisis, it’s hard to stay focused on performance. But Richard Facioni has managed to do just that, making some big, controversial calls at the same time as keeping his staff safe and engaged. Richard’s mantra is 'what we’re doing is never enough' and this approach has served his businesses well as they’ve worked through how they can maintain success in the pandemic. I found that out when I interviewed him for my podcast series Heart & Hustle: How To Thrive In a Crisis.

Richard is a well-known investor operating a diverse group of businesses including AG LEGO® Certified Stores , e-tailer SurfStitch, high-end fashion label GINGER & SMART, and a portfolio of more than 40 discount variety stores with Cheap as Chips. He’s also Executive Chairman of the country’s largest apparel group - ASX-listed Mosaic Brands Ltd - which represents a substantial part of Australia’s mass fashion landscape.

Richard has not allowed the crisis to distract him: his values around delivery and work ethic are constants, regardless of the market conditions. That’s pretty inspirational. I hope when you listen, you’ll be inspired too.
