Let’s create leaders that harness the most powerful and universal human emotion: Love

We are living in a pandemic of fear

Big, unprecedented, problems – a planet in distress and a way of living that seems to perpetuate disconnection from each other. Little wonder then that today leaders are facing a workforce that is increasingly cynical, disconnected and disengaged.

Globally around 40% of workers were considering quitting last year. And 1 in 3 emerging leaders are leading with fear, with disastrous consequences for performance and wellbeing. And yet, we are addicted to activity – the appearance of busy-ness that will secure the next promotion even though the last one made us no happier, making the balance of work and life even harder to maintain. So busy that when we are morally challenged at work, it is often easier to comply than dissent. We show respect for the senior, whether or not it is deserved. And as leaders we fail to create space for genuine listening and debate. Courageous authenticity is required on both sides to solve the problems we face.

As leaders we fail to create space for genuine listening and debate... Little wonder then that today leaders are facing a workforce that is increasingly cynical, disconnected and disengaged.

What’s love got to do with it?

Love leadership – real, authentic love leadership – makes tough calls, creates high performance, insists on truth. It creates safety through boundaries, it invites contribution, it embraces individuality, it’s inclusive, and it inspires collaboration.
